Eric Williams, DNP, RN, CNE, FAAN, was selected as a 2018 Villager Award honoree. Sponsored by Afram Global Organization, Inc., the award recognizes African Americans who have been a source of empowerment and support, and have had an impact on reducing health, education, or socioeconomic disparities.
Dr. Williams is the 12th president of the National Black Nurses Association, and the first male to hold the position. He is also assistant director of the Nursing Program at Santa Monica College, where his research interest is centered on the levels of cultural competence among nursing students.
