Melissa Batchelor-Murphy, PhD, RN-BC, FNP-BC, FAAN
Melissa Batchelor-Murphy, PhD, RN-BC, FNP-BC, FAAN, associate professor at Duke University School of Nursing, has been selected as a 2017-2018 Health and Aging Policy Fellow/ American Political Science Association (APSA) Congressional Fellow.
With her expertise in Alzheimer’s disease and caring for older adults, Dr. Batchelor-Murphy has been assigned to the majority staff on the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging, chaired by Senator Susan Collins (R-MA).
Since joining the Duke University School of Nursing faculty in 2011, she was awarded the National Hartford Centers of Gerontological Nursing Excellence Claire M. Fagin Fellowship for 2012-2014 to support her post-doctoral program of study.
Dr. Batchelor-Murphy was inducted into the Academy in 2017.
